Round the corner from my house there’s a vacant corner plot. The builders or developers who have access to it sometimes leave the occasional wheelbarrow or pot of paint propped up in a corner amongst the overgrown weeds, but other than that it’s been empty for months. Recently they’ve boarded up the area, but not very well, and now they keep blowing down.

One local resident has clearly had enough of this and have made their complaint as public and obvious as they could, which is great.

It says:

(DON’T LET THIS JUST BE… COMPLAIN + BE HEARD
THEY MIGHT BE SHAMED INTO ACTION)
SORT THIS OUT B4 SOME1 GETS HURT
IT KEEPS HAPPENING + I’M BORED OF WAITING 4 U 2 DEAL WITH IT
DO IT THIS W.E RATHER THAN JUST RE-PAINTING IT WHITE
THE END BIT IS IN THE FLIPPING ROAD —>

The last bit is my favourite. It clearly is in the road:

I love how totally irrefutable that is.

If I were responsible for the boards, I’d want to repair them and write IT’S A FAIR COP – SORRY.

Further to Hoxton 2.0?, I received a Flickr comment from Dr Max who has seen more anti-myspace graffiti around the Shoreditch area.

From the fast becoming mantra-like:

to the no nonsense directive:

I like the blue background on these.

I also like that there’s apparently an unfinished version that just says MYSP…

GET OUT OF MYSPACE… Hmmm. See, suddenly I’m not so sure that this is the spraycan last front in the battle against Murdoch’s social network after all, but maybe some clever art thing about reclaiming hoardings as social space.

Any more examples, please pass them on and we can try some flickr maps triangulation.
